Man pleads guilty to mutilation murder
Although a man pleaded guilty on Thursday to one of Catawba County’s most gruesome murders in recent memory, area officials are still struggling with a motive. Michael Anderson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder with aggravating factors on Thursday. He was sentenced to 16 years and 4 months to 20 years and 5 months. He could have been sentenced to up to 40 years. Superior Court Judge James Morgan also ordered a mental health assessment....
